2. WGST 150 – Women in Movies

Through viewing popular Hollywood films, we will analyze femininity across the life span. Critical thinking and cultural analysis will be practiced as we study heroines, working girls, motherhood, brides, cheerleaders, and old women on screen.

3. ORIN 251 – Preparing for Success

To provide resources to identify the extracurricular activities that best meet the needs of individual career planning and professional development. This course could be taken online.

4. ULIB 101 – Introduction to Library Research

Focuses on the concepts and logic of information access including using the libraries’ online catalog, various databases and the Internet to find quality information. Incorporates hands-on practice with electronic resources for research and synthesis of information.

5. COMM 100 – Principles of Human Communication

Introduction to the human communication process with emphasis on the principles, variables, and social contexts of communication.

6. EDP 101 – Learn Stratgs-Academic Success

The purpose of the course is to help students develop active learning strategies that are research-based and appropriate for the college curriculum that will enable them to achieve academic success.

7. WGST 170 – Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies

The major contexts in which gender identities have been and are defined and of the relationships between these definitions and the roles and history of women and men in society and culture.

8. DSGN 140 – Sustainable Living

Explores the personal, social, economic and environmental aspects of making sustainable choices. Sustainability principles and practices are discussed along with assessments of consumption and lifestyle decisions.

9. HN&F 171 – Introduction to Nutrition

Introduction to Human Nutrition. Nutrient structure, metabolism, integrated function and their importance to human well-being during all stages of the life cycle. Current concerns and those of special interest to college students in meeting nutrient needs. This course could be taken as an online class at WVU and is considered easy by many students.

10. CS 101 – Computer Science

This class is designed to teach students how they can assist others in learning Computer Science-related course material by assisting in course lectures and Open Lab environments. This is also an online class which is super convenient for students at WVU.
