Top 7 Places for Late Night Snacks at Boston University

Boston University

Even though BU is an academic institution, surely one of the most important things you will learn here is where you can grab a bite in the deep, dark night. Within reason and without getting kidnapped. So, without further ado, let’s get on with our higher education.

1. Insomnia Cookies

You can get hot, delicious cookies and milk (even strawberry milk, if you’re into that, and guess what– they even have ice cream sandwiches!). Anytime your heart and stomach desire until 4 in the morning. And yes, they deliver, too.

2. Go Puff

If going on an outdoor adventure at this time of night (or whatever time of night) isn’t something you want to do, look no further than the app Go Puff. They’ll deliver snacks right to your door, whether you’re craving ice cream, Pringles, coffee, or Sour Patch Kids. There’s a delivery fee, but it won’t come out to much if you split it with a friend.

3. Raising Cane’s

While this West Campus corner joint is only open till 12 a.m. (basically the late afternoon for you night owls), you can still get some great comfort food before you lose your chance. This staple of the BU Campus is known for its fried chicken and classic Texas Toast. And would you like fries with that?

4. MacDonald’s

You probably didn’t expect MacDonald’s to already be closing at midnight (what is this, Cinderella?), but before the clock strikes twelve, fill up on chicken nuggets and milkshakes and French fries and whatever else you can milk this place for. But hurry.

5. Late Nite Kitchen

Of course, you don’t really have to leave campus to enjoy some late night snacks. Every dining hall on campus offers some form of Late Nite, offering things like pancakes and tater tots, quesadillas, smoothies, fried chicken wraps, mozzarella sticks, chicken chimichangas, and much, much more. Bay State even has a restaurant-style Late Nite Kitchen, where you can have a sit-down meal, be served by a waiter, order things like fruit crepes or artichoke dip or raspberry soda, and pay for it all with your BU ID.

6. City Convenience

Perhaps the most important place on campus, City Co tends to be open late enough for the late night dweller (and diner). The location in West Campus is open till 2 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and till midnight the rest of the week. The one on Babcock is always open till 1 a.m, and the on by Warren Towers is open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and till 1 a.m. the rest of the week. Stop to load up on your favorite snacks.

7. Sunset Cantina

Located in West Campus, this Mexican food place with a lively, energetic atmosphere is open till 2 a.m. Thursday-Saturday, till 1 a.m. Monday-Wednesday, and till midnight on Sundays.

Hopefully now, you have an idea of where you can go to satisfy your appetites while at BU in the dark hours of the night! And hopefully, you feel a little safer doing it, knowing you won’t have to go too far away.
