5 Things to do at Penn State in the Fall

Penn State Fall

Fall comes to Penn State nearly overnight. While one day is 80 degrees and sunny, the next day is 60 and cloudy with a chill in the air. Here are some fun things to do as the weather gets colder.

1. Read in the Pattee and Paterno Library

Cozy up in a comfy chair and read one of the hundreds of books available to you at the library, or sit and do some homework while enjoying the peace and quiet.

2. Take an Uber to Harner Farms

Go an pick some crisp, fresh apples at Harner Farms. While you are there, get lost in the corn maze and pick the perfect pumpkin.

3. Have a Picnic on Old Main’s Lawn

Gather your friends on Old Main’s lawn and have a friends-giving. Eat autumnal foods like apple pie, apples, spice cookies, and drink the quintessential fall drink, a pumpkin spice latte.

4. Get Berkey Creamery Ice Cream

Every season is ice cream season. Enjoy fall favorites such as buttered pecan, cinnamon caramel apple, apple cobbler crunch, pumpkin pie, and monster mash.

5. Go to Football Games

What’s more quintessentially fall than football? The best way to experience fall is to go to football games and see Penn State beat Appalachian State, Kent State, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Make sure to stay warm with Nittany lion hats and PSU sweatshirts.

No one does fall better than Penn State. Enjoy the break of nice weather between the sweltering heat of August and the bitter chill of November. Be sure to savor the season with these activities!
