First Street Towers contains approximately 526 single rooms with private baths. Residents can mingle and study in community spaces, including lounges on every floor, or enjoy the quiet privacy of their own room.

2. Meredith Hall

Meredith South, the original Meredith Hall was built in 1952. Situated along Martin Jischke Drive, between First and Third Streets, Meredith Hall is an all-female hall named after the “Queen of American Agriculture” and Purdue’s female member of its Board of Trustees, Virginia Claypool Meredith.
Meredith Hall is home to 620 women and is non-air conditioned, although the common areas do have central A/C so there is always a place to cool off when you need to. Meredith Hall was originally known as “X” hall because it was built in the shape of an “X.” Inside, you’ll find numerous study and community areas, a baby grand piano, and unique dining options downstairs: Sushi Boss, 1Bowl, and Pete’s Za (all available with meal swipes!).

3. Hillenbrand Hall

Hillenbrand Hall’s unique design blends the best features of contemporary and traditional features in order to provide a comfortable, quiet, and relaxed atmosphere. Hillenbrand Hall features 800 beds in suite-style housing. Most rooms are doubles with a shared bathroom between two suites (four people share one bathroom). Hillenbrand Dining Court is located on the ground floor, so you don’t have to go outside to grab a tasty bite to eat! There are also numerous ways to get involved and develop your leadership skills. The Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) offices are located in the basement. That’s also where you’ll find additional study space, laundry facilities, and some professional staff offices.

4. Hawkins Hall

Hawkins Hall offers a great environment for academically-focused undergraduate students who are interested in being close to their classes. Hawkins also has a vibrant international community that includes students from more than 22 countries and offers programs for residents to have the opportunity to meet and socialize outside the classroom with peers and faculty.
Hawkins is a co-ed hall with the capacity to house 832 students. The hall has a combination of single and double rooms inside a 13-floor building with a shared or private bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning.

5. Shreve Hall

Shreve Hall is home to numerous learning communities and is home to one of the University Residences Academic Support Centers. Inside the support center, you’ll find private study rooms, medium and large conference rooms to reserve for your group, and a computer lab. Shreve Hall is located on Third Street, right across from the Purdue Fire Department and the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center. It’s right in the middle of everything! Hillenbrand and Earhart Dining Courts are a short walk away, as is Panera and Qdoba inside Meredith South, along with Sushi Boss, 1Bowl, and Pete’s Za inside Meredith Hall. Also, the All-American Marching Band practices in the field across Third Street. You’ll love walking home from class listening to the sounds of “Hail, Purdue!”
