1. ASTR 1210 – Introduction to the Sky and the Solar System

2. ANTH 1010 – Introduction to Anthropology
This course is an overview of key themes and theory in cultural anthropology. It is meant to provide students with the analytical and methodological tools to critically consider cultural difference, social organization, and social change. Themes include: anthropological methods, kinship, gender, religion, colonization, media, pop cultures and more.
3. COMM 1800 – Foundations of Commerce
The primary objective of this course is to provide an overview of business, including the themes of the history of business, business and society, and innovation. The course will enable students with interest in business and prepare students for business-related education, jobs, and careers.
4. SOC 2220 – Social Problems
Analyzes the causes and consequences of current social problems in the United States: race and ethnic relations, poverty, crime and delinquency, the environment, drugs, and problems of educational institutions.
5. PLAN 1010 – Introduction to Urban and Environmental Planning
Analyzes community and environmental planning in the United States; the planning process; and sustainable communities.
6. SLAV 2360 – Dracula
An introduction to Slavic folklore with special emphasis on the origins and subsequent manifestations of vampirism. Western perceptions, misperceptions, and adaptations of Slavic culture are explored and explicated.
7. ASL 1010 – Elementary American Sign Language
This course will provide an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) and the Deaf community. By the end of the term, you should be able to carry out elementary conversations in ASL and have a better understanding of Deaf people as a cultural group.
8. DRAM 1010 – How Theatre Works
Investigates theatre arts and their relation to contemporary culture through the practical and experiential study of plays, production style and the role of theatre artists in creative interpretation.
9. RELH 2195 – Theory and Practice of Yoga
An investigation of yoga practice throughout history from multiple disciplinary perspectives. Topics include yoga’s origins in ancient India, systematic yoga theories in Buddhism and Hinduism, Tantric Yoga, and the medicalization and globalization of Yoga in the modern period.
10. PSYC 2700 – Introduction to Child Psychology
Introduces the biological, cognitive and social development of the child. Topics include the child’s emotional, perceptual, and intellectual development and the development of personality and socialization.
