1. CAMSUA 110 – The Science of Happiness
Examines the state of college-student mental health and wellness on a personal and systems level. As undergraduate university students approach the end of adolescence, they often reevaluate the beliefs, values, and assumptions with which they left home.
2. CLASSUA 404 – Classical Mythology
Discusses the myths and legends of Greek and Roman mythology and the gods, demigods, heroes, nymphs, monsters, and everyday mortals who played out their parts in this mythology.
3. FOOD-GE 2171 – Food Photography
Demonstration of techniques for photographing foods for use in print and other media formats. This is a very interesting class at NYU if you love photography and food!
4. IDSEM-UG 1972 – The Legacy of Harry Potter
The Harry Potter books and films are some of the most popular stories of the early twenty first century. Millions of young fans grew up listening to, reading, and viewing the adventures of Harry and his friends, and many of them came of age along with the characters. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, this is definitely the class to take! This is also one of the coolest classes at NYU.
5. MPAVP-UE 1510 – Vocal Training
Group lessons (by examination) in voice, supplemented by extra assignments, outside practice, observation. If you love singing, this is the class to take!
6. ART-UE 1140 – Topics in Painting
In this workshop, students expand the skills and techniques initiated in Introduction to Painting. This course will focus on realism and figuration, with emphasis on representation and the effects of the human figure in various settings and narratives.
7. FOODGE 2025 – Beverages
Basic principles & practical experience in development of beverage systems & menus. Considers pricing, equipment, legal, merchandising & personnel policies.
8. MUSICGA 2101 – Intro to Musicology
Proseminar in current research methodology and musicological thought. Topics discussed include techniques for the examination of primary source materials; principles of musical text criticism and editing; and current issues in musicological thought.
9. PSYCHGA 2010 – Principles of Learning
Examines major theories of learning with relevance to instrumental and Pavlovian conditioning, motivation, and affect. Explores relevant research on traditional and contemporary issues in learning.
10. SOCS1UC 2201 – Oral Communications
In this course students study the dynamics of the communications process and participate in a workshop for developing effective interpersonal skills.
