History and Quick Facts

The University of Wisconsin–La Crosse is in La Crosse, Wisconsin United States. It was Founded in 1909 and is a leading comprehensive four-year institution within the University of Wisconsin System. The total enrollment as of 2017 is about 11,000 students and as of 2014, the average ACT score to get in is between 23-27. The average acceptance rate as of 2014 is about 74%. The average tuition for in-state is about $9,000, with out of state tuition around $16,000.

Colleges and Schools

The different sub colleges of the school consist of College of Business Administration, College of Liberal Studies, School of Arts & Communication, College of Science and Health, and School of Education. The different undergrad programs you can do range from Accounting, Finance, Criminal Justice, Philosophy and Information Technology. The variety of graduate programs consist of Business Administration, Social Work, and Student Affairs/Leadership.

Athletics

As for athletics, the school currently competes in Division III. The different sports range from Softball, Baseball, Track & Field, and Swimming/Diving. You can also join sports clubs that have a range of opportunities to get out and be active. Some of their events from the past have been rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, bag toss.

Transportation

The school offers students free admission onto the La Crosse MTU bus/shuttle. This is the public transit that allows people to get onto different routes around town. A few places that you can go is the downtown area, Valley View Mall, French Island, and Crossing Meadows. There are also SAFE rides for students that provide transportation during later hours of the night.

Student Life

A few examples of student’s organizations to join are Greek organizations, Honors Society, as well as different class-related/professional organizations. There are plenty of internship and volunteer opportunities and public events to attend such as lunch and learns, seminars, and planetarium visits.
